After the First World War, military cemeteries appeared everywhere in the region. They honour, as silent witnesses, the many victims of the 'Great War'. But the Second World War also claimed many deaths. In De Panne and Adinkerke, three military cemeteries were created. In addition to a final resting place for the military casualties, the civil cemetery, which is still in use, was also built in De Panne.
