This villa from 1926 is a double house together with villa Daisy's Home, and is built in regional-traditionalist brick architecture with references to an austere cottage style.
Exterior
Three elements characterise the cottage style here: the frequent use of painted woodwork, the varying roof volumes and the embellishment of the facade with recessed and protruding wall sections.
Certain characteristics of the exterior are also reflected in the floor plan. Characteristically, the architect aimed for an open structure and did everything possible to avoid right angles. The successive differences in level and the strategically placed furniture create a functional link between the rooms.
Interior
The building, which is located in the Dumontwijk, was recently renovated. It clearly shows the blending of ancient and contemporary elements in the choices of the current owner. The abundant original woodwork - mainly pitch pine (a resinous wood from North American pine) - was largely preserved and supplemented with elements from contemporary materials that provide a personal touch. The techniques were completely renovated and meet the latest standards.
