Euro-Kartoenale Exhibition
Back in 1999, the European Cartoon Centre (ECC) held its annual Euro-kartoenale competition and exhibition, this time exploring the theme of ‘Suitcases’.
And what a success it was! No fewer than 893 cartoonists from 57 countries submitted an incredible 3,764 cartoons. With so much talent on display, choosing the winners was no easy task for the jury!
Now, some of the finest cartoons from that memorable edition are back in the spotlight at Cultuurhuis De Scharbiellie. After all, suitcases and travel never go out of style, especially in a seaside town like De Panne, where journeys and holidays are part of everyday life.
