Only swim in a supervised area
A supervised area can be recognised by the official signs that are placed there. In these areas, bathing is permitted from 10.30 am to 6.30 pm For safety reasons, swimming or bathing is not allowed in certain places. These zones are also not guarded.
Please note the signal flags in the supervised area
- Green flag: bathing and swimming allowed
- Yellow flag: bathing and swimming are dangerous, all floating objects are prohibited
- Red flag: bathing and swimming prohibited
Stay between the buoys
The yellow buoys mark out the swimming zone.
Follow the instructions of the life guards
The life guards are not there to spoil your fun, but rather to ensure your safety. So please listen to them.
Free anti-drowning bracelets
Pick up your free anti-drowning bracelet at the beach help centre in the middle of the beach (extension of Zeelaan) or at the Tourist Office. You can put your child's name and your phone number on it.
Is your child lost? Then, thanks to the bracelet, the rescuers can quickly contact you!
Beach wheelchairs
Special beach wheelchairs are available for those who want to spend a day at the beach in a wheelchair. These are special models that allow you to ride on the beach, even up to the water line, without any problems.
Beach wheelchairs are available from 15/06-15/09, during the opening hours of the beach rescue service at the Zon Zee Zorgeloos booth in the middle of the beach. (Reservation number: 058 41 26 66) The wheelchairs are also called ‘strandjutters’.
The wheelchairs can be hired free of charge.
