About Robin Ramaekers
Since 2013, Ramaekers has been the face of VTM Nieuws and HLN, reporting from conflict zones around the world. His career began at VRT in the week of September 11, 2001—a moment that profoundly changed his view of the world and of journalism itself.
In his new book Front, he looks back on more than twenty years of reporting from Ukraine, Gaza, Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan. He doesn’t just recount major events but also tells the human stories behind the headlines. He reflects on his personal journey, the moral dilemmas of the profession, and the fine balance between involvement and distance.
