Do you like a good local beer? Then enjoy one of the beers listed below with your feet in the sand.
Golden Pier Kloeffe
This traditionally brewed top-fermenting beer is named after Pier Kloeffe, the famous fisherman from De Panne who set sail to Iceland on a 'galette' (a schooner) up to 9 times. There is a statue in his honour at the foreshore of the Leopold I Esplanade.
Panneschum
A blond regional beer, brewed a few years ago for the annual Leopold festivities.
Pannepot
Are you more of a dark beer fan? Then we recommend the Pannepot. The name refers to a 'Pannepot', a typical fishing boat.
Duneleute
The exclusive Duneleute beer is brewed from sea buckthorn berries and has a slightly sourish aftertaste. These healthy berries contain a lot of vitamin C. Duneleute is served in the bar of the Duinpanne visitors' centre.
Do you prefer something a bit stronger?
Then try a Pier Kloeffe gin or the drink of the gods named Picon! Picon is a typical drink from 'De Schreve' (the Belgian-French border) and is made from fresh orange peels.
