Reburial of belgian war dead '14-'18
Experience a moment of reflection and remembrance at the military cemetery of De Panne.
During this solemn ceremony, a Belgian soldier from the First World War—whose remains were discovered in 2024 in Diksmuide—will be laid to rest with full honours.
Defence and the Military Command of West Flanders will pay tribute through a military parade, historical re-enactments and a moving musical accompaniment.
A time to pause, reflect and give thanks to all who gave their lives for our freedom during the Great War.
The reburial is organised in collaboration with the World Heritage Institute.
Everyone is welcome to join this symbolic tribute to an unknown soldier and to a past we must never forget.
