Always wanted to ride an old tram? In De Panne, you can regularly board one of the historic trams from the 1930s and 1950s and go on a unique ride.
In the old tram depot of De Lijn you can learn more about the trams from the last century. Many were saved from demolition and restored to their former glory. Volunteers will be happy to show you around and tell you lots of facts about each carriage.
What is 'TTO-Noordzee'?
TTO-Noordzee has been restoring historic tram vehicles and making them roadworthy again since 1978. They have already restored several tram carriages. Thanks to their efforts, you can now board an authentic tram from the 1930s and 1950s. At certain times, you can also enjoy a short ride on the 'Tram des Tijd' (Tram of Time) that shuttles between the depot and Adinkerke station. The association also organises special tram rides along the coast and rents out historic trams and tram rides for events.
