Fancy a trip to the last century? Then stop by the Nostalgic Media Museum! Behind the facade of a simple terraced house, you will be catapulted back to your (great) grandmother's time. It is like stepping into a time machine: you will see nostalgic films played on old projectors, hear crackling music from retro radios and the very first moving images are played on the unique mechanical televisions of yesteryear. Jan Selschotter, the driving force behind the museum, will take you on a tour of his unique collection and has an amusing anecdote to tell about each media device!
What is the 'Nostalgic Media Museum'?
Together with Denis Asseman (†), Jan Selschotter is the proud owner and inspirer of the Nostalgic Media Museum. He started his collection when he was only 12 years old. It was Jan's grandfather who gave him the wise advice to collect old radios, gramophones and the like. Fortunately for us, Jan listened to his grandfather. In fact, he collected so diligently that, in addition to his museum, he also filled his mother's attic to the brim with valuable collection pieces.
