Digging holes? It's not just children that are crazy about it, dogs wag their tails wildly when they see the gigantic sandpit. In addition, they are allowed to run free on some parts of the beach and are welcome on many of our footpaths. Have fun! And please pick up after your dog!
Concrete dune reinforcement
Even if you have difficulty walking, the concrete reinforcement between the blokart centre and the slufter invites you to get some fresh air with your four-legged friend. Enjoy the salty sea air and the wide views without getting your feet wet!
Garzebekeveld and Cabour dunes
This gem in Adinkerke was a well-kept secret until now, but we are happy to tell you all about it! Close to the French border, you will find one of the best preserved fossil dune areas in Northwest Europe. Some parts are more than 5000 years old! Along the way, you can admire typical dune plants, amidst the symphonic chirping of the blue-winged grasshopper and the sea buckthorn.
Calmeynbos (Calmeyn forest)
In the Calmeynbos, you can go hiking, mountain biking or horse riding. An ideal way to seek refreshment on a hot summer day. Maybe you will spot an golden oriole or a green woodpecker in the tall trees? With your four-legged friend on a leash next to you, the ‘dunekeuntjes’ will quickly run away!
The beach
We can only be excited about our beach: the widest, the most beautiful, the most inviting ... come and dream away to the sound of the endless waves, the screeching of the seagulls, the crunching of the shells under your feet ... this is where happiness can be found! Something even your dog will agree on! Endlessly chasing a ball, swimming in the sea ... In the zone between the blokart centre in the direction of France and the slufter, your dog can run free from 1 October to 14 May.
