The beer originated about five years ago during a convivial evening with friends in Adinkerke.
After tasting a few beers, they came up with the idea of brewing their own. They experimented with different recipes and ingredients until they created a flavour that pleased all five of them.
Oyenkerke was brewed in conviviality, for conviviality's sake.
The beer has a spicy aroma and a hoppy flavour with a bitter finish. The alcohol content is 6.5%.
The combination of the hops, two types of malt and two types of yeast gives the beer its unique flavour. In short, a beer that gives you an appetite for more.
Vincent’s tip: Belgian chips! The greasy, salty chips provide a good balance with the Oyenkerke’s spicy, dry and bitter notes.
