Slachthuisstraat, Adinkerke

With the stabilisation of the front, the transport of the dead could be organised better. This way, the deceased no longer had to be buried in the proximity of the frontline. From this moment on, coffins were also generally used. In 1916 a divisionary funeral service was founded that was responsible for exhumation and burials. This funeral service included a joinery where the coffins were made.
